Day 1

Paris , Rovaniemi

Departure for Finland

Departure for Finland

Flight from France to Rovaniemi (for any other departure city, please contact us). On arrival at 1.30pm on the first day (time subject to change), you will be met by a taxi and taken to your hotel. You will be taken to your flat and given the opportunity to use the facilities (sauna).
Dinner at the hotel is included.

Day 2

Breakfast at your hotel. Free day at your hotel on a half-board basis.
Optional: Meet Santa Claus by snowmobile (6 a.m.); you will be collected from the hotel. Then transfer from the hotel to the office where you will choose your cold-weather equipment before taking your place on the snowmobiles (the children are pulled by the snowmobiles driven by the guides, on sledges, well covered with reindeer skin). You will then cross the snow-covered forest and stop off at a reindeer farm to take part in the Shaman ceremony. Then a short reindeer sleigh ride before a hot cup of tea and a snack. Arrival at Father Christmas's village, where you will have lunch before meeting him. Free time in the village before returning to the hotel.

Day 3

Breakfast at your hotel. Free day at your hotel on a half-board basis.
Here are a few ideas for excursions, but there is a wide choice on offer (please contact us for details).

2km husky dog ride (3h); you will be collected from the hotel. Then transfer from the hotel to the office where you will choose your cold-weather gear before taking your place on the snowmobiles (the children are pulled by the snowmobiles driven by the guides, on sledges, well covered with reindeer skin). Visit the farm and set off on a 2 km walk.
Private visit to Ranua Zoo: magnificent (5h)! Departure by taxi from your hotel for Ranua Zoo: guided tour of the zoo and free time to enjoy your favourite species (polar bear and over 50 wild animals living in an environment reproduced as close to nature as possible).

Climate and equipment

From January to March, temperatures are well below 0 and night falls in the early afternoon. People go to bed early and get up early in Finland.
Bring mountain clothing (ski suit, boots, etc.) for independent outdoor activities, which you can wear underneath the cold-weather gear loaned on excursions.
