Tailor-made

The islands of the Philippines are known for their unique culture and for the diversity of their landscapes. Nature, untouched by man, gives way to features that are found almost nowhere else. Like the famous Chocolate Hills on the island of Bohol. You'll be amazed by these islands, most of which seem to have retained their original appearance.

Batad

Batad (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) is your destination for the day. After a 30-minute jeepney ride, you'll head down to the village (a 30-minute walk) and once you've dropped your bags at the hostel*, you'll get moving again, as another great visit awaits you. You'll cross the amphitheatre of rice paddies as closely as possible, passing by the "Real Batad" at the bottom of the valley. If you're brave enough, you'll be able to go down and take a dip in the Grande Cascade de Tappiyas... Suffice to say, it won't be all plain sailing, because yes, this feast for the eyes has to be earned! In total immersion, you'll be cut off from the world and in close contact with the Ifugaos. You'll appreciate the benefits of a massage on your return.
Overnight in Batad - Hill Side Inn 1* in a private room or equivalent

* We recommend that you pack a small bag weighing 5kg (toiletries and towel, warm light clothing, rain protection, good walking shoes, swimming costume, torch, camera, etc.). We will leave larger items of luggage in Manila.

Sugar loaf and salted water

Sugar loaf and salted water

Now's the time to sample the special menu we've concocted for you. Depart for a personalised tour, away from the classic "A--B--C--D" of the Bacuit Archipelago, which has been used as a backdrop for numerous TV series (Khô Lanta 2007, Survivor, Bourne Legacy...). Its 45 'Sugar Loaf' rock formations, often compared to Halong Bay, Rio Bay or those along the Li River in southern China, have never been equalled in terms of beauty and pristine beauty. We'll start by visiting the interior of the archipelago.
Our choices were Big & Small Lagoon, Shimizu Straight, Entalula Island, Cudugnon & Cathedral Caves, Snake Island, Pangulasian West, Secret Lagoon and Pinagbuyutan.
The barbecue lunch on a deserted beach is prepared by the local crew in the form of an all-you-can-eat buffet and consists of fresh fish, chicken, pork chops*, salad, rice and fresh fruit... Drinking water is fresh and available in unlimited quantities. A mini bar is on board for soft drinks and sodas.
Everyone's diet is catered for, with fish cooked first, then chicken and finally pork.
Overnight in El Nido - Caalan Beach Villa** Studio or equivalent

Day 11

El Nido, Buccana

Jungles and beaches

Jungles and beaches

Let's hit the road! In a van, we'll be exploring the north of the island. We'll be heading for the Bucana jungle for an authentic walk in the heart of the Palaweño culture. If the season is right, we'll stop off at the Nag Kali Kalit waterfalls. Our destination: the inevitable Nacpan beach, twinned with Calitang beach. Its 4km of white sand and panoramic views always leave tourists breathless.
Bucana... A remote village where we can bet we'll be the only foreigners. Visit the houses on stilts, cross the suspension bridge over the mangroves, walk along the bay and through the village to meet its inhabitants, fishermen and blacksmith. We'll stop here to treat you to a local meal.
We'll head off the beaten track to the secret, hidden beach of Duli. At the end of the road, a new sight: the deserted beach of Dagmay. A new sunset that few are lucky enough to see... You'll be back at the end of the day.
Overnight in Nacpan - Jack's Place

Day 12

Buccana, El Nido

Participatory day

When you wake up, the beach is where you belong. After breakfast, we'll set off again to meet the inhabitants of the north of the island, for a real immersion and connection with the population.
You'll take part in activities such as traditional fishing with local cooking classes, learn how to make coconut oil and climb palm trees to harvest the fruit. You'll visit schools and take part in games with the local population. You'll be back in El Nido by the end of the day.

The secrets of Bacuit

The secrets of Bacuit

After these days spent in the jungle and on the 'road'... We're off to sea again to visit the second part of the archipelago and leave you with some beautiful images in your mind. Following the same pattern as day 9, but this time concentrating on the outer part of the archipelago.
Tours A, B, C and D take 4 days to complete. Our outboard motor allows us to reduce the journey time from one point to another and to quickly find a quiet spot to avoid the crowds. In the end, these 4 tours will be completed in 2 days instead of 4 without 'flying over' them.
Cadlao Lagoon & Long Beach, Binanculan Beach, Matinloc Shrine, Star Beach, Secret Beach & Guntao Island, filming location for Khô Lanta 2007 (sea permitting), Hidden Beach, Helicopter Island.
