Departure from Paris to Stockholm (provincial departures on request). Arrival at the airport and transfer to the 3* hotel. Depending on arrival time, city excursion.
OPTION: Safari evening in Stockholm
You will be guided by an English-speaking naturalist who will show you around and help you discover the fauna, flora and rich history evoked by the old buildings along the way. He knows where the elks, kings of the forest, as well as the deer and wild boar, are accustomed to being at dusk. For 3-4 hours, you will experience an original 'safari' by minibus and on foot.

Stockholm Archipelago

Departure by ferry for a day in the archipelago and a walk on the island of Utö or Sandhamn. The Stockholm archipelago takes on a whole new dimension here, with the Baltic Sea opening up on the horizon and a spectacle of small islands and islets all around us. Overnight at the hotel.

Stockholm, Bergslagen Forest

This morning you'll travel by train to the eco-lodge located in the middle of the forest, around 2h30 west of Stockholm. These simple but cosy wooden cabins bring you closer to nature. On the edge of a lake, this is an ideal spot for observing the surrounding flora and fauna. Relaxing. In the early afternoon, you'll set off to discover the world of beavers or moose, depending on the dates. Accompanied by your naturalist guide, you will discreetly approach their natural environment. (5 to 8 hours safari including dinner).

Bergslagen, Stockholm

Free time in Stockholm

A restful day. There are many walks to discover in the surrounding area, you can fish in the lake in your own boat or canoe and the sauna is available all day. Don't miss the chance to pick berries (wild blueberries, bilberries) and mushrooms. Depart by bustrain in the late afternoon for Stockholm. Overnight at your hotel.

Stockholm Archipelago

Early departure by public transport for the archipelago. It takes just 1 hour to reach the small port of Stavsnäs, where we take a water taxi to the start of our day's sea kayaking. This is an easy-paced trip, suitable for beginners and the more experienced alike. You join other participants for the day. After a simple introduction on land, we immediately set off for our day of discovery with an experienced guide. He will show you the most beautiful islands, islets and coves. Few visitors come here and it's easy for us to find a deserted island for a break over a well-prepared lunch. Return to Stockholm at the end of the day. Night at the hotel.

Climate and equipment

Climate :
- Summer is the most pleasant season (from mid-June to August). The days are long and sunny, and the temperature is high (up to 30°C).
- On the other hand, the sea is never very warm (17° maximum, so lakes are preferable). The further north you go, the longer the midnight sun is visible.
- From September onwards, the skies become overcast. The cold starts in October in the north (dry and bracing), and in November in the south (wet and windy).
- In the centre of the country, the ski season runs from December to April; in the north, it runs from March to early June. Fauna and Flora Forests cover just over half the country's surface area, with deciduous trees in the south and coniferous trees in the north. Mammals include elk and reindeer, bears, wolves, lynx, wolverines, beavers, roe deer, foxes, fallow deer, otters and seals. The birds are not to be outdone: Golden Eagle, Negro Lark, Dunlin, Rough-legged Buzzard, Squaccoon, Common Eider, Glaucous Gull, Harvest Goose, Red-winged Lark, Alder Tarin...

Our opinion

This programme presents no difficulties.
- You need to be able to swim and be used to walking for 3 to 5 hours over gentle terrain.
- It's a great way to get to know Swedish nature.
- Our favourites: the Vasa museum, Stockholm by bike, lively waterside terraces, the old quarters, endless sunsets and sunrises, the proximity of wild nature.
