Hello Pascale Here we are, back in France. Like our previous trips, everything went very well and went according to plan. Good contact with our guide. We travel to see for ourselves what we read, see and hear. This year, we were able to take the pulse of Cambodian life. The land of smiles is living up to its name, but for how much longer? We have the feeling that this country is becoming a supermarket for capitalist countries and China. Throughout our trip, we saw that massive deforestation, using fire and chainsaws, is disfiguring this country. There is systematic plundering of natural resources to the detriment of the Cambodians. The programme, with its magnificent views of the lush jungle and sea forest, has been reduced to almost nothing. We think that in a few years' time, there won't even be any jungle or biodiversity left. This is not a criticism of you, but rather a thank you for allowing us to see all this and to be able to "bear witness" and try to change our habits. The accommodation was very good, with a small reservation for the unsympathetic owner of the homestay on the island of Koh Trong. Don't plan to visit the 7-storey waterfalls at Ban Lung in the dry season, as a 4-hour 4X4 return trip is not worth the rubbish dump that this place has become. After talking to some locals, we learnt that other very beautiful and more accessible waterfalls are almost never visited. We were able to meet up with friends we had made 2 years ago in SIEM REAP. See you soon to prepare our next trip. Best wishes to Alexandra, whose adventures we read about regularly. Sincerely Jérémie D.
