The Saguenay Fjord, in the heart of winter...
Canada

Adventure

Nature

The majestic Saguenay Fjord winds its way down to the St. Lawrence fleuve at the foot of sheer cliffs covered in thick boreal forest.
A community united by the harshness of winter welcomes travellers with the warmth of people who live in the kingdom of the cold.
A land populated by trappers, songwriters, mushers... colourful characters whose encounters mark a lifetime.
On snowmobiles, dog sleds or snowshoes, they'll help you discover their Saguenay, a place of intense sunsets over the frozen fjord, and evenings around the fire under the stars of a sky of unrivalled purity.

After some driving and safety tips from the musher, you set off on the mountain trails of this wild region.

This afternoon, take advantage of the sauna, bask in the warm waters of the pool and take in miles of fjord views all at once.
And for the more adventurous, experience the headlights of your snowmobiles illuminating the trails on a night-time excursion (optional - 2 hrs).

Snowshoeing & Forest Survival (BLD)

A new snowshoe walk this morning, guided by a nature interpretation specialist, takes you through landscapes that are as different as ever, bearing witness to the diversity of the region's ecosystems.

After lunch, we'll be waiting for you near Lake Louise, in a prospector's tent modelled on those used by the pioneers, for an afternoon on the theme of winter survival in the forest.
We'll show you how to fish under the ice, build a fire on the snow and create a shelter like a "quinze", the typical igloo of southern Quebec. The final evening will be festive, with the colours and flavours of maple in the traditional sugar shack. Hosted by your guides, the atmosphere will be signature Pur Québec!
