On arrival, you will be met by your guide, who will take you to the Akany Ny Avoko association's guest house.
A structure that takes in young children and girls on the advice of a judge and helps them through a process of social reintegration = a great success.

After breakfast, you will visit the centre with a member of the association, who will explain why they exist.
You will then head off in the direction of the Route Nationale and the village of Ambatomanga.

Day 4

Surprises in the forest

Surprises in the forest

Your host will tell you all about the workings of one of Madagascar's rare cheese dairies.
You will reach the village of Andasibe in the afternoon, where you will be welcomed by the locals.
Introduction to the association and as soon as it gets dark, you'll head off into the forest in the company of one of the guides from the Mitsinjo association to catch a glimpse of chameleons and other nocturnal lemurs.

Immersion in Madagascan culture

Morning walk in the Analamazoatra reserve = observation of the largest lemur in Madagascar and a few other species of lemur if you're lucky!
Lunch with a local, followed by an afternoon of crafts or vegetable-growing.

This time you leave the eastern forest and the Rn2 to head due south towards Mahanoro and the Indian Ocean.
A varied and colourful landscape on this day's journey, with a stop for lunch in the picturesque town of Vatomandry.

Sailing on the Pangalanes Canal

Early departure to board the motor pirogue for a full day's sailing on the Canal des Pangalanes.
Village life, fields and rice paddies and the pirogues will punctuate your day.
Breakfast, lunch and a snack will be served on board this motorised pirogue.

Back in the pirogue, we enter the interior via a beautiful natural branch of the canal.
You'll set foot on land 2 hours later to walk to the village of Fiadanana, a 3-hour walk through the countryside, with plenty to talk about.

Another great day's sailing on this part of the Pangalanes Canal, which is meant to be the prettiest. Lychee trees, mango trees, rice fields, fishermen, birds on stage this day for a show of great beauty.

Comfort

The tour combines Western comfort in guest houses and hotels with more basic comfort in rural gîtes and in the homes of local people.

Dry climate and rare rainfall.
Wide temperature range (from -6°C to 40°C)
There are two seasons: the rainy season (hot season), from November to April, and the dry season (cool season), from May to October.

Health

Take out insurance to cover medical and repatriation costs
Compulsory vaccine: diphtheria-tetanus-polio
Recommended vaccinations: typhoid fever, viral hepatitis A and B, rabies
Protection against mosquitoes: long sleeves, repellent, etc.

A contribution per person goes to the Razanamanga association to help fund their projects (included in the price).
This trip combines activities with associations, visits to villages and discovering the flora and fauna in the national parks.
